February 9, 2001 – COVINGTON
The Buccs continue to roll as they beat Ansonia 64-55 to raise their record to 14-4. The win came at a cost as Josh Burelison went down hard in what was a scarry moment for all of those in attendance. It's unknown whether Burelison will be able to return for the rest of the season but at this point, that's the least of the concern for Bucc fans. Burelison's health is of most importance.

The Buccs started fast against the Tigers in what was a heated battle that is reminiscent of the battles the two schools waged on the football field this past season. The Buccs took a 16-9 lead after the first quarter but Ansonia cut into the lead by halftime. The two teams went into the lockeroom with the Buccs holdinga narrow 30-25 lead.

Ansonia too a 5-point lead after the third period. They oustcored the Buccs 20-10 in the third to take momemtum of the game. The Buccs rebounded by dominating the fourth period. The Buccs outscored the Tigers 24-10 to come away with the 9-point win.

Jason Meyer led the Buccs with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Bert Roeth added 16 points which Harod Meyer knocked down 10 points.

With the win the Buccs improve to 13-4 and hope Josh Burelison will be OK. The Junior point guard has been a leader on the floor and has big shoes to fill. The evnts that unfolded during the game took the luster away from a very impressive win by the Buccs.

The Buccs will have to clear their heads and before tomorrow night's game against Versailles in Tiger land.
