December 19, 2000 – COVINGTON
The fourth period has been the Buccs downfall three out of the last four games. They have outscored their opponents in the fouth period only once this season and that was their first game against Mississinanwa Valley. It could be contributed to the fact that many of the Buccs were playing football late into November and it takes time to recuperate from a long season. They just haven't found their basketball legs and as a result, they haven't been able to finish games strong. Until Tonight!

Arcanum came to town and the Buccs are starting to show what Buccaneer Basketball is all about. Relentless pressure on the ball and execution on offense is what the Buccs do best and against Arcanum, it was a complete game on both ends of the floor.

The Buccs jumped on Arcanum early. They held the Trojans to only 9 points in the first and 20 by halftime. The Buccs' offense dominated as well by putting up 32 points on the board by halftime.

The third and fourth periods were as dominating as the have played to this point of the season. They outscored Arcanum 40-16 in the second half for the 72-36 win. The Buccs got stronger as the game progressed, scoring 25 points in the fourth period while holding Arcanum to only 7 points in the period.

With the absents of Jason Meyer, the rest of the players picked up the slack. Four players scored in double figures, led by 20 points from Bert Roeth. Jarod Meyer had 14 points, Mike Molesky scored 13 and Alex Hague chipped in 10 points for the Buccs. The Buccs held a huge edge under the boards by pulling down 32 rebounds to Arcanum's 24.

The Buccs improve to 3-2 on the season and look to keep the ball rolling when they travel to long time rival, Newton on December 22.
