It's a great basketball season when the Buccs are 12-4 and they face Newton twice in the same season. The gymnasium becomes packed and the crowd is rowdy. Newton - Covington games are always exciting and intense.

Similar to their previous meeting, which the Buccs won 50-41, the Buccs and Indians battled each other closely early. Neither team could get the advantage as he Indians took a 1-point lead into halftime 21-20.

The third quarter was much of the same as each team traded turns taking the lead. As the third came to a close, the Buccs took a 1-point lead 34-33. In what has become their trademark after struggling earlier in the season, the Buccs dominated the fourth period to close the show. Four players reached double figures for the Buccs in scoring. Jason Meyer led the Buccs with 19, Bert Roeth added 14 and Josh Burelison and Jarod Meyer dropped in 10 points each. The Buccs continue to dominate the glass by outrebounding the Indians 37-18.
