The fourth period woes were back tonight as the Buccs dropped their third game of the year to a powerful Russia team 79-67. The Buccs were outscored 25-11 in the fourth which was the difference in the game.
Again, the Buccs came out strong. Jason Meyer was back and burning the nets. The Buccs took a 17-11 lead in the first but Russia was able to cut the lead to 2 points by halftime, 39-37. The Buccs' lead remained at 2 points at the end of the third as both teams poured in 17 points in the period.
Russia dominated the fourth period by outscoring the Buccs by 14 points in the period. The Buccs were unable to stop the bleeding as Russia kept the pressure on. Fouls were the Buccs downfall as they sent Russia to the line 36 times on the night.
Russia only shot 61 percent from the line but that led to 22 points. The Buccs shot 87 percent from the line but only got there 15 times. Each team pulled down 35 rebounds and the Buccs made 25 shot out of 61 on the game.
Jason Meyer led the Buccs with 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Bert Roeth scored 12 points and Jarod Meyer dropped in 11 points and 9 rebounds.
The Buccs drop their record to 5-3 on the season and they hope to get back on track with some home cookin' as they host Fairlawn tomorrow night.
