January 26, 2001 – TWIN VALLEY SOUTH
After a dissapointing loss to Bethel and six days to think about it, the Buccs were ready to erase the memory. After all, your only as good as your last game.

The Buccs needed to come out strong against South to get some confidence and get back on the winning trail. Coming in 9-4, the Buccs are still in the hunt for the CCC title and they needed to take care of business regardless of what the CCC leader Bethel does the rest of they way.

Twin Valley South was the beginning of the road back for the Buccs and Covington didn't disappoint.

After trailing 18-15 after one period, the Buccs used a balanced scoring attack to take over. The Buccs went into halftime leading 34-24 and never let up. South hung close but couldn't take the lead the rest of the way.

After three periods, South cut the lead to 7 but the Buccs stayed focussed and finished with a strong fourth period down the stretch to take a much needed 63-55 win.

The Buccs received a balance performance from their starting unit as four players scored in double figures. Jason Meyer led the Buccs with 16 points with Bert Roeth, Josh Burelison and Jarod Meyer dropped in 13, 12 and 10. Jarod Meyer led the Buccs with 8 rebounds while Buerlison distributed 8 assists. The Buccs held the rebounding edge 26-21 and shot close to 60 percent from the field including 2 for 3 from three-point range.

Next the 10-4 Buccs finally get to entertain the hometown fans as they host Tipp City tomorrow night.
