March 13, 2001 – UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI
All good things must come to an end and unfortunately for the Buccs the end came at the hands of the Bethel Bees in the Regional Semi-Finals. The Bees brought too much firepower for the Buccs to overcome.

The game started out much better for the Buccs than their first meeting with the Bees. The Buccs played with intensity and forced Bethel into early miscues which led to easy points. At the end of the first period the Buccs held a 38-33 lead and had needed momentum going into the second half.

Bethel came out in the second half and made some adjustments the Buccs had difficulty dealing with. They pressure the ball and forced the Buccs to work for every point. Bethel took the lead in the third but the Buccs managed to stay within striking distance. Leading 47-44 going into the fourth, Bethel picked up the pace. Led by Matt Plunkett and Matt Witt, Bethel slowly pulled away. When all was said and done, the Bees walked off the floor with a 10-point win, 67-57.

Jason Meyer led the Buccs with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Jarod Meyer chipped in 14 points while Bert Roeth scored 12.

The Buccs had a great season and they look forward to next season and perhaps another crack at the Bees. The Buccs finish 19-5 and add the District Championship to their trophy case.
