When attending a boys basketball game this year, you will see some high-flying flips and choreographed routines. You'll also see some familiar faces as six girls return to the varsity level from a year ago.
Leading the way is Hollie Hitchcock, who place 3rd at the National Cheerleading Competition last April. Five more cheerleaders return from last years' varsity squad, Chrystal Diltz, Kate McCord, Jenny Thompson and Ramsé Cavender. Cavendar and Thompson are the two returning seniors of the group and gives veteran leadership to this years' group. Having six returning cheerleadesr gives the unit continuity and familiarity with the program.
Two newcomers join the varsity ranks in Rachel Boggs and Jillian Schmidt. Both made the jump from cheering at the reserve level last year.
The reserve squad consists of seven first-time high school cheerleaders: Layne Fulks, Jesie Jennings, Stephanie Kuharik, Kendra Simon, Annelise Kimmel, Meredith Tobias and Erica Reck.
Cheerleading Advisor for the 2003-04 squad is Gretchen Schmidt.
