'06-'07 Buccaneers...
The 2006-07 Covington Buccaneers varsity basketball team has the tools to make a run at a conference championship and a run in the state tournament.
Senior Captains, Seth Mohler (left) and Gene Studebaker (right) will look to lead the Buccs in 2006-07.
The 2006-07 Buccaneers will be top heavy with seniors, which should be beneficial down the stretch. However, only two returning letterman remain from a year ago in Seth Mohler and Gene Studebaker. Below is a short profile of each senior.
GENE STUDEBAKER - a 6'3" Guard and returning three-year letterman. Averaged 11.9 points and 6.4 rebounds last season.
SETH MOHLER - a 6'5" Forward and returning two-year starter. Led the team in rebounds with 7.0 per game as a sophomore.
DEREK BRUMBAUGH - a 6'6" Post Player, who played primarily at the JV level last season. Big D should be a force in the post.
COREY PATTY - a 6'0" perimeter player who excels at taking the ball to the basket. Is also a good rebounder at both ends of the floor.
DREW CRAFT - a 6'2" perimeter player who handles the ball well and is versatile enough to play in the post.
BRIAN BECKSTEDT - a 5'8" Guard with a fine shooting touch from the outside. Will come off the bench for the Buccs.
BRYANT HALE - 5'10" Post Player who gives the Buccs an aggressive and intense inside presence off the bench.
MATT THOMAS - 6'0" permimeter player who played primarily at the junior varsity level a year ago. Matt brings enthusiasm top the Buccaneer team and will contribute off the bench.
