Covington enters their 23rd year in the Cross County Conference. The Covington Buccaneers enter the 2013-14 season coming off a 14-9 overall record and a 2nd place finish (10-2) in the Cross County Conference.

There will be many new faces on the varsity team this year as the BUCCS only return one starter from last year., senior Andre Benedict.

The team will once again face some stiff competition in the Cross County Conference and, like always, will have an extremely competitive non-league schedule.

Covington will host Versailles, Houston, Anna and Marion Local, as well as, compete in the Buckeye Insurance Holiday Tourney held at Piqua High School. The BUCCS also have a tough non-league road schedule as they will travel to Coldwater, Milton Union, and New Bremen.

The BUCCANEER players on the varsity roster this season will be expected to provide the leadership necessary in order to compete for a league title and be tournament ready.

This year's team will consist of seniors Andre Benedict, Tyler Henry, Ethan Meyer, Seth Clark, Tyler Clark and Riley VanHise.

Juniors competing for varsity time will consist Austin Lefeld, Josh Earick, Robert Gengler, Drew Schaurer, Ty Boehringer, Collin Gipe and Sam Sherman.

The 2013-14 Covington Buccaneers enter this season with determination, optimism and excitement. However, the Cross County Conference will provide some tough competition.

Added to this are the non-league foes, and you can see that the Buccs will have many challenges to overcome as they strive to continue their tradition of excellence.
