Covington cheerleading advisor Gretchen Schmidt has nine returning cheerleaders from a year ago - all six on the varsity team and three more at the junior varsity level.

Haleigh Murphy returns as the lone senior, experienced at the varsity level from the past few years.

Joining her at the varsity level are juniors Amanda Brown, Taylor Angle, Tara and Heidi Snipes and sophomore Stephani Shane.

The Snipes sisters return with varsity experience, while Brown, Angle and Shane make the move up from junior varsity.

Juniors Anna Snyder, Amber Edwards and Olivia Moody return to provide leadership at the junior varsity level, while a strong freshman class joins the team; Heidi Cron, Megan Lowe and Sadie Canan.

Another new addition to the cheerleading team is Chloe "Sugar Ray" Aselage, the grand-baby of Joe and Gretchen Schmidt.
