BECOME A PART OF THE COVINGTON BASKETBALL TRADITION...
The Buccs have a rich tradition of winning on the basketball court since the first season in 1904. Throughout the past century, Covington basketball has been a way of life and a source of pride for families.
The Buccs have recorded six 20-win seasons throughout their storied history, including a 24-1 record in the 1980-81 season. The other 20-win seasons came in 1940-41 (20-2), 1976-77 (20-3), 1978-79 (20-2), 1979-80 (20-2) and 1983-84 (20-5).
There have been some outstanding individual performers over the years as six players have scored at least 1,000 career points with Tom Dunn being being at the top of the list with 1,721 points from 1968-1972. Three players have scores at least 500 points in one season, Tom Dunn, Lane Evans and Jay Meyer. Three more players have recorded at least 500 career rebounds as well and seven players have reached the 400 rebound mark for a career.
The annual Kids Camp is the first step in becoming a solid all-around basketball player and establishing the foundation you'll need to become a part of the tradition established at Covington High School.
